Assigning a task to someone on your network is a great way to prioritize workload and keep your processes on track.
When assigning resources to a task, you may set completion to either Single or Multiple. Single completion means that, to close the Task, any assigned resource can mark the Task as complete. Multiple completion requires that all assigned resources must sign off on the Task individually before the task can be considered closed. In case an assignee cannot sign off on a task, the person who created the Task can also sign on behalf of that assignee and mark the task as complete.
To create a new Task, follow the steps below.
- From the Content Creation menu, click Assign a Task.
- On the Assign a Task window, enter a title and description for your task.
- By default, the task is created under your General Notebook. To change this, click the Book button, remove General, then either select another existing notebook or click Create to create a new one (for more details, see Creating a Book).
- Optionally, click the appropriate buttons at the bottom to attach files, as well as add references and tags, and share the task with a space or spaces. In addition, you may assign resources, set due dates and reminders, and tag the task as high, medium, or low priority.
- Click Create.
NOTE: Although priority setting is optional, it is recommended that priorities be set for Tasks that need immediate attention to ensure that these are tracked to completion.
